Communication, Did your child ever approach you concerning difficulties contacting their teacher?
• Not at all
• Teachers do not respond over the weekend. When a majority of the work is completed over the weekend it would be helpful to have support during that time. Cyber school kids do not normally do the work during school hours.
• Sometimes it takes a while for items to be answered because of holidays or walk outs.
• No.
• Sometimes the response time from some of the teachers has been a little slow. Over three days and up to a couple of weeks. Usually responses are within 48 hours for most classes. I would like to see asignments graded within a week of being submitted because it is often important to have feedback before getting too far advanced in the course. Some teachers have marks returned withing 48 hours which is great but other courses my son has completed without having received midterm marks yet. Over a month behind in marking assignments.

• Oher than a few times at the beginning she was waiting back on a response from the teacher about how to proceed, but I ahven't heard complaints since the very beginning of the new semester.
• No, she is always able to get a hold of her teacher.
• Yes. Our son sent emails asking for help on questions that were unclear. He always got an answer but most times it was very few words and did not clarify the answer.

• On occasion my children emailed their teacher for help and they were always very helpful.
• NO, sometimes it takes a day or two but the teachers have always responded back quite promptly.
• They never spoke directly with their cyber teachers but they did e-mail them with questions and difficulties. I think their replies were timely and useful as I did not hear any complaints from my children. The only improvement I would recommend is that in the Grade 10 Accounting Course some of the assignments could be reviewed and improved by a CA. My son found a few assignments were confusing and when he asked for help from my husband who has been a CA for 20+years even he found the information confusing and at times incorrect.

• No - one is still near the start of her cyber course and the other is waiting for an opening to get into the course as it was full by the time she had worked out all the problems in registering.
• There has been no difficulty getting through to the teacher. The problem we're having is with registering and with the trickiness of the wording.

• Yes - but only because she did not understand how to use the mail function on the cyberschool. Once I showed her, she was fine.

• Absolutely not. Erik was in contact with his teacher more than once, I think, when he had questions, and was always able to get whatever info that he needed from his teacher.
• No not really. Our son did enjoy some teachers better and seemed to correspond well with them but if questions were asked they generally were answered so he could continue on.

• No but there was some glitch with login but that was sorted out expeditiously.

• Contact wasn't the problem. Layout and content of the courses seemed to be a problem. Some more adequate than others.
