Public schools draw funding short straw - ABC News (Australian Broadcasting Corporation)

Public schools draw funding short straw - ABC News (Australian Broadcasting Corporation):

"Government schools are drawing the short straw in funding compared to private schools, according to a new report from an educational lobby group.

The National Report on Schooling has prompted the Federal Government to commission an independent review of the way money is allocated.

The study was driven by economist Trevor Cobbold, who heads up the lobby group Save Our Schools.

It found that funding for independent schools rose 82 per cent over the past seven years, but only 48 per cent for public schools."
