Revised job description 2000

One month after the first attempt at a job description for the cyber school administrator we put together this more professional one.

Professional Staff, Duties and Responsibilities
Cyber School Administrator.

The duties of the administrator shall be carried out under the direction of the assigned principal.

• The chief responsibilities related to the Instructional Program are:
• Foster development of courses and programs compatible with the philosophy, goals and objectives of the cyber school.
• evaluate and adapt programs with a view to students needs in this environment.
• co-ordinate development of courses across subject departments and schools.
• organize and facilitate inservice programs for staff.
• assume responsibility for student timetabling
• assist in teacher timetabling in schools
• assist in the preparation of the instructional budget
• supervise teachers, with emphasis on gaining insight into teacher and student needs in the instructional program and on adapting and improving teaching techniques for this method of delivery.

• The chief responsibilities related to the operation of the cyber school are:
• Student Services
• Student extra-curricular programs
• chaplain services
• reception of students
• information
• health, safety and security
• Attendance
• develop and maintain policy
• determine procedures
• maintain records
• Student Behaviour
• promote an atmosphere which will foster desirable student teacher relationships
• oversee supervision of students
• develop and maintain policy regarding rules and expectations with respect to conduct
• Record and report teacher absence
• Exercise general supervision of the facilities of the cyber school.
• Assist in the preparation of school budget
• Supervise teachers with emphasis on gaining insight into teacher and student needs in the instructional program and to improve teacher online teaching techniques.
